Urban Business Magazine - I was publisher, editor, founder, chief cook and bottle washer (1987-1994) of my Tampa, Florida-based magazine that targeted the region’s Black professional and entrepreneur with a business and career focus. At one time or another, I worked in all departments of the publication including editorial, circulation, production, advertising sales and janitorial services.
In case you’re wondering, publishing your own magazine… on a shoestring… with no experience… is a GREAT way to go broke. Just in case you’re looking for one. But it was a great experience – and I gained experience, that serves me to this day.
